<연속선 VI Continuous VI> 

이 작품은 '재야생'의 순환적 성질을 표현하기 위해 자연의 재료로 만들어진 무한하고 연속적인 형태이다. 마치 낙서처럼 공간에 3차원으로 그린 그림이지만, 그 구성은 현장에 천천히 이루어진다. 이 작품은 비틀고, 방향과 속도를 바꾸어 마침내 자신과 다시 이어진다는 점에서 일종의 야생의 에너지를 구현한다. 그러나 동시에, 자연과 고요하고 조화롭게 대화를 나눈다.이 작품의 공법은 섬세하게 계획되었지만, 현장의 독특한 지형과 작품이 접촉하게 되는 나무들에 대응하여 직관적으로 생성되었다. 대나무의 유연한 갈래들은 마치 한 다발의 근육 섬유와 같은 기능을 하며, 그 많은 수(數)를 통해 강도와 유연성을 얻는다. 나무가 바람에 흔들림에 따라 작품도 흔들리게 된다.

This sculpture is an infinite, continuous form made of natural material in order to express the cyclical nature of ‘rewilding’. It is a three-dimensional drawing in space like a quick doodle, but constructed slowly on site. The work embodies a kind of wild energy in that it twists, turns, changes velocity, and loops back upon itself. Simultaneously, it engages in calm and harmonious conversation with Nature. Though its method of construction was carefully planned, the sculpture emerged intuitively in response to the site’s unique topography and the specific trees with which it makes contact. The flexible pieces of bamboo act like muscle fibers in a bundle, to provide strength and flexibility through multiplicity. As the trees sway in the wind, the sculpture sways too.
